USA, California to be exact, houses the largest wine producer in the world, the Gallo which is located in Modesto, California. 90 percent of the wines produced by USA come from California.
5. Argentina
Each year, wine production in Argentina increases by around 8 percent, which makes the country number 5 when it comes to the production of wine. Furthermore, it is one of the fastest-growing wine-producing countries in the world.
6. Australia
Much of Australia’s economy relies on exporting wine. This is because Australia has many wineries including the Yarra valley wineries. The weakening of the dollar caused Australia to expand its wine market in Hong Kong and Asia.
7. Germany
Germany is known for its production of aromatic white wines which are favored by many. The wines produced in Germany are usually exported to US and UK.
8. South Africa
The largest volume of brandy comes from South Africa. The country is also known for its world-famous Chenin Blanc.
9. Chile
Chile is known for the variety of wine it produces. Particularly, it is best known for its Carmenere, which is considered the lost varietal of Bordeaux.
10. Portugal
Portugal is best known for its production of a high-alcohol dessert wine known as the Port wine. Port wine is made by blending several wine varieties.
