5 Secrets That Highly Organized People Swear By

You probably have that one friend who has an organizer in every room of their house. From the bedroom closet to the kitchen cupboard, whenever you visit, you notice how everything has a place and a purpose.

If you’ve always struggled with procrastination and being messy, here are five secrets that highly organized people swear by that will help you learn new habits.

1. Keep Your Car Clean and Tidy

You’ll definitely recognize an organized person by the state of their car, which is why you should always keep yours clean and tidy. Having a messy car full of empty take-out containers and junk mail can have a negative impact on your mental health.

Not only do you have to use your car regularly, but you also give friends and loved ones ride on occasion. Keeping your car clean will make you feel better prepared for whatever situations come your way.

On the other hand, you might be putting off the decision to get a new car when you really need one, and that’s something you can fix right away. Search for a new Nissan for sale to compare your options and find the right car for your future.

2. Make To-Do Lists Before Bed

Your organized friends will tell you that making to-do lists is critical to their success, and you can do one better by making those lists before you go to sleep. Right before bed is when you might experience a wave of stress and anxiety while your mind races through all the things you have to do the following day.

The best way to deal with this is to make lists of all those tasks while they’re on your mind. Writing down a to-do list at night saves you time doing it the next morning, and it also helps you sleep better.

3. Build a Network to Get Things Done

Organized people are very comfortable asking for help and using their network to get things done. You can do the same by staying active in your social circle and maintaining relationships with people from different walks of life.

That way, when you have to come up with a karaoke machine last minute for a work event, you’ll know the right person to call in a pinch.

4. Keep Important Items in Their Place

If you want to feel as relaxed as a highly organized person, you have to start keeping important items in specific places in your home and at work.

For example, use a key bowl near your front door as a reminder to always leave your keys in the same place. This strategy can save you time by helping you avoid losing these important items.

5. Reward Yourself for a Job Well Done

Organized people aren’t better people, but they are better at self-care because they reward themselves for doing a good job. Giving yourself a reward, such as a fancy dessert or a couple of hours watching your favorite show, is a good way to remember that you deserve kindness and nice things.

Even the smallest tasks deserve rewards. Don’t be shy about showing up for yourself.
